I was a patient on full life support in August 2016 at new cross I don't have enough words to thank the staff for their work I had an emergency bowel surgery on 23/08/16 from A and E and the next thing I knew it was the 11th September and I'm waking up in itu with two staff there to support me. During my time in the coma they kept a daily log for me which was given to me the day, I was moved on to A12 to further my recovery I found the log a much needed aid when I was trying to piece together the days I had missed whilst being in a coma, when I was moved to the ward the expertise of the itu staff don't end there I continued to be seen at least twice a day by the out reach team. My husband, brother and the rest of my family said they couldn't of got through the journey without the staffs constant encouragement and advice I was given initially only a 20% chance of survival and here I am nearly 11 months down the line still receiving care from a team at new cross but never the less I'm getting better. They are all truly marvellous.
