Visited Orhopaedic dept today for check on knee problem. Was doubtful anything could be done as problem also connected to spine where for last 6 months I have been attending a private hospital as an NHS patient. Within two hours I was seen by consultant, sent for Xrays, back to consultant and on to be measured for knee brace. All done by competent, approachable and helpful staff. From experience at private hospital this would have involved 4 appointments there, 10 hours travel and taken about 2 months to do all at huge cost to NHS. Wish BDGH had spinal facilities. I hope our local facilities are valued by all and people shout out "Hands off our NHS". Thank you all.
