I war referred for a colonoscopy in Oct 2016 and opted for the War Memorial Gosport - heard nothing until June 2017 when QA called.
Within a week of that call I'd seen the consultant and then had my colonoscopy on Sunday 2nd July.
To all those who are terrified (as I was) please don't be.
The staff are brilliant and reassuring.
The procedure isn't anywhere near as bad as you imagine.
The hardest thing is the not eating for over 24 hours but I recommend Lucozade as it really takes the edge off your hunger.
The bowel preparation took 3.5 hours to work and then worked very well!
Don't go far from a loo!
The procedure is painless but uncomfortable when they pump gas in - that doesn't last long.
Two polyps removed (didn't feel a thing) and a tattoo to mark the place.
I hate tattoos but at least no one will every see it! Overall - very happy with the treatment received.
