I came in to be induced, induction process started straight away more or less. It was a slow process that lasted the full 30 hours(time it takes for medication to work) at the end of the 30 hours I was told I needed to wait for a bed on the labour ward in order for my waters to be broken.
Waited 12 hours approx. Staff were friendly and helpful on the labour ward. Baby was born 6am. I was then moved to the postnatal ward. I noticed baby was a little yellow, so mentioned it to the midwife who came and took some blood to test for jaundice. The test was done at 11am, I had to chase for results 4 times. In the end it took 7 hours to be told he needs phototheraphy! This could have started a good 5 hours earlier.
Phototheraphy has finished but need to wait for a repeat blood test in 12 hours. Very frustrating that something that could be done sooner is taking so long. I have kids at home that need me!
