"My general surgery experience"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / General surgery

(as a service user),

My gp rang through to c32 as it had been confirmed last week that I have gall stones.

I arrived at the ward initially it was great whilst 3 people were waiting..I got scan xray bloods etc all done quick..because I have had 6 spinal fusions I ask yo lay down, I was given a trolley in a room.

7 hours later after nobody giving me any of my pain relief etc they tell me that I had constipation..and gallstones. They could not promise how long I would lay on the trolley for as there had been car accidents all over Nottingham so and non emergency surgery would now be cancelled because od chronic pain in my back and my gall stones I had to go home

As I could mot lay on a trolley for a night... 2 nurses both questioned me about going home..said I did not have to .. I felt pushed out ..they did not dive me any advice on medication and did not give me any to take home. I am ringing pals.
