"The radio in the background makes it all so much more pleasant."

I have been attending appointments here( geriatric mental health) for a short while now and hear that the clinic will be taking away the radio from the waiting room. This will be a real shame as I know what a difference having the radio in the background can have on soothing people and calming them down. I find it comforting being able to listen to the music as it stops me from becoming wrapped up in my own gloom, I can start a conversation with other people if a particular song is good or, in my opinion, bad and talk to them about the music of our day.

I know people are worried enough when they come to these clinics, I know I am and others must be too. The radio in the background makes it all so much more pleasant.
