"Breast care unit"

Wow what can I say! I was referred with breast pain under a urgent referral.

Didn't wait long at all for the breast care nurse to examine me. The nurse immediately put me at ease, the nurse was gentle,kind and made me laugh which instantly relaxed me.

On examination, my gp thought I may have a lump..turns out it was actually my rib!

The nurse knew exactly what my problem was by examination but sent me for a mammogram just in case,then I was sent on my way feeling relieved.

I was there only 1 1/2 hours which was fantastic service. I can not praise the nurses enough..all of which need medals! Also the radiographer was so gentle and made my first mammogram painless..despite reading some horror stories of how it's so painful.

My advice to anyone reading this who gets a urgent referral to the breast clinic, don't google and don't believe everything what you read! The nurses make you feel relaxed and know what they're doing so trust them. Also don't worry about a mammogram it's not as painful as you think.
