About: Derriford Hospital / Clinical haematology

After a less than satisfactory experience at another hospital I asked to be referred to Plymouth with a permanent life affecting blood condition.

The care and attention I have received at Plymouth since that referral has been second to none.

I am treated with respect and dignity my questions are answered and the team fill me with confidence that they know what they are doing and talking about.

I am confident that if the worst should happen and my currently largely indolent condition morphs into something more unpleasant then I will be treated promptly and appropriately and supported both physically and emotionally to manage any negative outcomes.

The teams at Derriford, despite being extremely busy, always strive to ensure every patient receives the best possible, care, treatment, and support. They realise what a worrying time it can be for patients, and always try to answer any questions, however trivial or otherwise they may seem. The staff are determined to carry on providing you with the best possible support, as we continue to help you manage your blood condition.

We are always delighted to receive any feedback as it shows what we are doing well, and what we might improve upon. To receive such a glowing testament from you gives all the staff such a boost, and reassurance that they are making a positive difference to patients’ lives. Best wishes for the future.
