My father was a admitted with an very large unstable & complex aortic aneurysm. His care and surgery under the vascular team was superb.
He spent time on the ward before surgery where the staff were so caring, always having time to answer our questions and keep Dads spirits up.
We cannot thank the surgeon enough for giving Dad the chance ( even though it was slim) of getting through this. The risks were fully explained to us all and he visited Dad many times just to talk to him.
The surgery was very long and complex. The surgeon even after nearly 10hrs in theatre rang me and explained in great detail all they had done.
Dad spent 5 days in ICU. All this time the nursing staff were wonderful, each time we visited we would have a full report of what had been happening. Dad appeared very well cared for and the team around him very supportive.
The ICU doctors spoke to us regularly and were fantastic.
The outcome sadly wasn't what we hoped but even up to the end we were fully supported and treated with compassion. Dad was shown so much care and remained dignified to the end.
As a family we cannot thank all those involved in his care enough. Worcester Royal Hospital you should be very proud that you provide first class care,
"Excellent care."
