"I am very grate full to all staff who have given him the best chance."

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Maternity Tameside General Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

Check up at Tameside following reduced movements. After 20 mins of monitoring not happy with with mine or babies stats. After trying to encourage babies movement and I V fluids to me after roughly 1 hr of monitoring decision to give steroid injection and break waters. Babies heart rate continued to dip so decision for epidural and emergency C-section.

All staff at Tameside were made me feel safe and comforted me and acted fast to ensure the best for me and baby, this was particularly important as I was on my own for most of the time as my mum and partner were stuck in traffic. Baby was very poorly upon delivery I had more than average blood loss and took a long time to stitch up. The staff came and chatted to me and my mum and kept us well informed. I made a quick recovery and was checked in on regularly. My baby went to NICU where several staff struggled endlessly to get him stable enough to move to Oldam for intensive care, some members of staff working for over 12 hours. My son was transferred to Oldam where intensive care managed to stabilise him and even requested to transfer me and get a room with a bed for my husband. I am very great full to all staff who have given him the best chance.
