My mum had a stroke on the last evening of our holiday on the isle of Wight. From the bottom of my heart I thank the wonderful staff who looked after her. We had " Stig " the ambulance driver who got us from Thorness Bay Holiday Park to st. Marys in the blink of an eye. Sarah and Samara in A&E who were absolutely rushed off their feet. Who as well as my mother to thrombolise they had patients with breathing problems, seizures, and another" regular " who was causing problems and needed security staff to sit with him. Hats off to you ladies you were great.
From there Mum went up to cardiac care unit for next 24 hrs. Excellent care yet again for Mum and for us.
Then Mum was moved on to the Stroke Unit. What brilliant, lovely, professional people you are. So caring, not just for Mum, but for my family who came over from the mainland and my husband and myself. Making it easy for us to visit. You were so attentive that our minds were much more at rest when we had to return to the mainland leaving Mum with you. Thankfully you managed to stabilise her enough so that she could come back to mainland.
Although mum seemed to be continuing to improve unfortunately she suffered another stroke on opposite side and died.
Thank you all for your care. Doctors, nurses, cleaners, tea ladies, porters and everyone else. We didn't get the outcome we would have liked but we will be eternally grateful to you all.
