First entered the system in October with a sore foot after a fall 6 weeks earlier via my gp... X-ray stated no fracture so was passed on to the physio's. After many physio visits and lots of complaining about pain and exposing my other ankle was also just as sore. I then got to see an other physio who ordered an MRI this happened some 3 months of pain and altered activities in my daily living later. Was phoned to go see the physio who saw me two weeks later and said yes broken, displaced etc.. he had spoken to the surgeon already and said it would be a quick ORIF operation and he would be in touch.. so both these health care givers were aware of my trauma and pain.. still not interested in my newer injury even although I raised a concern each time I met my physio..
Three months later was my date to see the surgeon and my entry into the waiting list treatment guarantee.. my 12 weeks have now breached today and I'm still not had my operation. It was also discovered at the visit to the surgeon that my other foot had a broken bone... my question is, why was I not classed a trauma pt and also why was I not put on the waiting list away back in January when they were aware of my fracture. Why also was I allowed to breach? I'm now off work getting paid to wait for treatment! !
I'm sore, frustrated, angry, disabilitated and think that the waiting times are a political tool that the nhsaaa ignore!
