"Infection Control"

About: The Whittington Hospital

I have just visited a friend at the Mary Segal ward who is immune suppressed due to chemotherapy. My friend is in a side room where infection control is very much lacking. On entering the room nurse did not have any apron and gloves on. No clinique wipes were in room nor used until requested. As a health professional it is a disgrace that no procedures are in place to prevent infection for a vulnerable patient who is is immune deficient. I was horrified also to see a patient being so dehydrated and had to request a drip to get fluids. I hope this is a one off incident and my friend does not leave your hospital worse off than when she went in.

Thank you for getting in touch to let us know of your experience with the Trust.

It is concerning to hear this: would you be able to get in touch with our PALS team so we can investigate further? PALS can be reached on 020 7288 5551 or whh-tr.whitthealthPALS@nhs.net.
