"Rehab unit unfit for purpose"

About: Norwich Community Hospital

My wife was sent here for physiotherapy after a prolonged illness. The purpose was to get her mobile again and restore her strength. After 5 days with very little attention from any therapist, her condition was deteriorating and she was becoming weaker. When I queried her lack of progress I was told "well, they have to want to do it.." effectively blaming her for their failure. She became very ill and I had to insist that she was returned to NNUH because I felt that she was not safe in this environment. A week in NNUH and she was restored to health and has now been discharged to continue rehab at home.

Do not allow your loved ones to go into Norwich Community Hospital.

Further warning: if you use their car park, keep your tickets for a few months because you are likely to receive a fine weeks later and be unable to contest it.

Hello

Thank you for comment but saddened to learn of your wife's and your experience of rehabilitation care at Norwich Community Hospital, this is unacceptable and concerning. I am glad to know, however, that your wife is now better and continuing her rehab at home. It would be really helpful if you could contact me, Christine Little, Patient Experience Lead, tel 01603 272507 directly so that we can understand more about what happened , be able to inform the ward and learn from this for the future.

With regards to the car park, our Estates and Facilities department are making improvements to signage, information and parking protocols, however we appreciate we have more to do.

Kind regards

Christine
