I would like to say a massive thank you to the midwives and healthcare assistants at the DMU, they are incredible and a credit to the NHS.
I gave birth to my first baby here and cannot thank the staff enough for the care me and my little baby received. Right from the moment I entered the unit I felt reassured, relaxed and confident in the abilities of the midwife. Rachael took care of me throughout my labour and she was fantastic, I couldn't have done it without her! She really kept me calm and there was not one moment where I didn't feel that I was in good hands. I cannot praise her enough!
Also, I would like to thank the midwives Linsey and Patricia who helped me massively with breastfeeding. If it wasn't for them I may have given up breastfeeding because I was struggling initially. Patricia even gave up her lunchtime to help me when I was upset; showing how genuine the care is in the DMU. I am so grateful for their help, I honestly can't thank them enough. I really wanted to breastfeed and with their help we managed and it is going great now. I owe the success to all their help in those first few days.
I'd also like to mention the community midwives who I seen throughout my pregnancy and the few weeks postpartum. They were all great and showed a high level of care and a friendly face at every single appointment. Katrina and Anita were particularly fab!
I don't believe these amazing maternity staff members get enough thanks and praise. Each and every one I encountered were incredibly hard working and caring and they should all be so proud of the service and care they deliver.
Thanks again, from one happy mum!
