"Waitng Time"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital / Urology

I attended QA's Urology Department and was seen quickly and courteously by staff and the consultant who informed me that I would be scheduled for a procedure in 8 weeks time. I have now waited for well over that time and when I contacted the Department today was informed that I would need to wait another 8 weeks. My condition is worsening and I am unhappy that having secured funding for this procedure I am now being asked to wait well over double the time to receive treatment. I am well aware that this procedure is not major surgery but the condition is becoming worse and is embarrassing to say the least..

I am so sorry to hear that your condition is worsening and that you are still waiting to hear from Urology about further treatment.

Please would you e-mail us privately at PHT.PALS@porthosp.nhs.uk so that we can get in touch with the Urology Team to try to get things sorted as soon as possible.

You can also call us on 0800 917 6039 or 023 9228 6309 if you'd like to speak to someone today.

I hope that things will get sorted out for you very soon, but do let PALS (Patient Advice & Liaison Service) know if you need their help with this or any other hospital related issue.

Kind regards
Marion
