What could be improved
my mum is 84 & a patient "now". Vising at 7pm tonight i find my mum with her arm in a cast sitting on a chair too high-her feet didnt touch the floor. She has renal failure but hadnt had a drink for most of the day,she had no cup & isnt able to pour a drink anyway. virtually immobile, her buzzer was out of reach on the wall. She hadnt been to the toilet since 10am this morning. Is basic care too much to expect? The nurse appears to be very good at passing the book but not so hot at doing their job. I am disgusted & appalled at my mothers treatment when,at her age, she should be afforded a little bit of dignity. I will endeavour to let as many people know as possible about standards on this ward.
