Thank you to the nurse whom I spoke to on the phone today. It was the first time I had used Moorfields Direct and it all worked smoothly and quickly. I left my number for a callback, and this came about 5 minutes later. I had received a letter following my outpatient appointment at Moorfields last week, and was rather alarmed at the way my condition was described. The letter included technical terms I was not familiar with - unsurprising as I was copied in to the referring doctor's letter to another department in the hospital - and I wondered if things were more serious than I had realised. The nurse on the phone was very thorough, explained everything to me, and put my mind at rest. The nurse was kind and patient as well. This is a fantastic service, and it was just great to be able to access a service within the hospital in such a quick and easy way, and to speak to someone knowledgeable at the end of a phone. It was the best kind of joined-up clinical practice.
