Thank you for the excellent care from Dr McLellan's Team at the Neuroscience Department of the Edinburgh Sick Kids. Everything was clearly explained to my 9 year old while he underwent an EEG after suffering a nocturnal epileptic seizure in February. Rather than being a scary experience, it turned out to be some fun for my son who was kept engaged and entertained throughout. Following the test, we had the opportunity to discuss the event in more detail, the test results and what to do if a seizure occurred again. We then made our way down to the Cardiology Department where he promptly underwent an ECG. We expected to have to wait for these results by letter, but the technician was kind enough to let us know his heart rhythms were fine. This kind of 'out of the blue' event is incredibly worrying for parents and I left feeling re-assured that further care, support and advice would be quickly available should we need it.
"Thank you for the excellent care for my son"
