I've been in DRI for 6 days having come in through A&E. I've been moved countless times to different wards and have had countless blood tests. My biggest bugbear is the lack of communication between hospital staff and patients. I realise the staff all have jobs to do and are stretched beyond belief. however, there has to be communication between Dr's and patients. I have seen a dr most days on there rounds, but I do not see them afterwards with results from tests, I don't see nurses with results from tests. I only see staff coming in for blood tests, that don't know what the test is for. I had one staff member wanting to put an canular in my hand, when it should have been another blood test. There needs to be more communication!
