"My father was smiling the next day"

About: Caithness General Hospital / Accident & Emergency Raigmore Hospital / General Surgery Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

My father fell at work!

Broken hip and only dinner time. He was taken to Caithness general hospital  examined and exrayed. Evening time he was transferred to Inverness and in the morning operation started. The surgeon decided to replace his hip midway. My father was smiling the next day....wonderful.

Given the horrific shock my family felt, NHS Scotland made this experience survivable for all involved.

We are very grateful to all involved, even the ambulance crew who contacted me on twitter and said...'tell your dad we're asking for him'

Thank you everyone

Dear highland profile

I was sorry to hear about your father's fall at work but pleased to hear about the care that he has received and the positive effect this has had on all of the family.

I hope his recovery continues to be as speedy as his treatment was. On behalf on the Scottish Ambulance Service please pass on my best wishes to your father.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Take care

Martin.
