After falling ill and a full day in A&E,
I was visited by a Consultant,
I got the impression very quickly that this consultant was highly competent and thorough. I felt reassured that I now have one person who is taking ownership of trying to find out why I am ill.
I have since visited the Haematology department a number of times and have been impressed in how it is run and operates. When it comes to the Consultant, they represent what I believe a good consultant should be; understanding , professional, efficient, genuine and honest.
A lot of consultants could learn from this one if they approached patients in the same way.
I have since decided to label them "the blood detective".
Due to some complications and my symptoms evolving I am still not out of the woods. However, a thank you to " the blood detective" and the Haematology team you have reignited my believe that the NHS can be efficient as well as caring.
Well done.
Please pass on my thanks.
