My father has been diagnosed with a brain tumour. We were told it isn't very big and that it can be treated, good news you say. He has been put on steroids and told he would lead a normal life.
It has taken the Royal Free 2 weeks to get the results of a biopsy (and we still don't know what they are). When my dad was discharged we assumed that things would get better. We were so wrong. My dad has deteriorated so badly in the last six weeks of being diagnosed that he now cannot speak, cannot read or see properly and cannot even eat. We cant get hold of the consultant - we have been trying for 3 days to get a response from them to no avail.
Right at this moment my mother is waiting for an ambulance to take my father to hospital because he is so sick. Had my dad been a dog we would have been fined for animal cruelty.
Where do we go from here to get this sorted? A very intelligent man, whom I always turned to for advise has turned into someone I don't recognise, he doesn't know what time of day it is what day of the week and what year we are in. How can this happen? And where are you supposed to get the help from when it does. My advice save your money and go private so you don't have to go through this.
