I was initially referred to the centre by our health visitor due to having twins and not having much local support. Emma came out to do an initial assessment to look at our families needs. She was really lovely, warm and friendly which I feel is so important when you have someone coming into your home. Due to struggling getting to baby massage classes and the logistics of balancing two babies, we started having weekly baby massage at home. It was great and the twins loved it. We incoperated it into our bedtime routine and found it helped with the twins colic too. Emma also kept me up to speed with what was being offered locally at the centre such as a cake decorating course for mums with a free crèche and a weening course. I attended both which were great. The weening course really improved my confidence around the idea of starting weening and was great to meet other mums too. The cake course was brill and I loved knowing the twins were in an ajoining room having lots of fun with the staff who were so amazing with them.
They really helped me feel at ease leaving my twins for the first time even if it was just next door. I could also have a couple of hours to myself leaning a new skill in the process. I cannot fault Retford children centre, all the staff are so friendly and make you feel so welcome when you go. I feel so lucky to have such a great and free resource in the community that my babies can access and grow up visiting. Thank you again! ! !
