I turnt up for my appointment at 11:15 first day of my two day procedure and the first receptionist I spoke to was very kind and also another person informed me that as I was 17 I needed someone who was over 18 to accompany me home, so I was able to get someone who was over 18 to travel to the clinic bearing in mind that it was a Sunday and the trains are very irregular so it was difficult to get here, the person who told me I needed someone who was over 18 was on the phone to the person who had agreed to come to the clinic said it didn't matter what time she arrived as long as she could come today. I was waiting around outside near the clinic and I received a phone call from the clinic at around 15:00 and it was a different receptionist at this point, they were so rude to me I couldn't believe it, they told me I needed to come back to the clinic and put the phone down on me! I arrived back at the clinic at around 15:20 with the adult who was over 18 and had travelled for hours to take me home after the procedure I was supposed to be having this day, to be told that the surgeon was going home. Now according to the streatham hill BPAS website your clinic shuts at 18:00 on a Sunday, so why is your surgeon going home 2 and a half hours before closing time. The receptionist was so rude to me when I got back to clinic, no one told me that there was a closing time for the surgery. The receptionist wasn't apologetic at all I don't even think they said sorry to the the way they spoke to me or for wasting my time and the two people who were with me so I have to now wait another week to have my appointments. I think it's actually disgraceful that surgeons are going home two and a half hours before closing time and the receptionist who was working at 3 o'clock that day should go on a course to learn some manners and customer service skills. I don't think the receptionist realises that people have travelled around all morning it's not like the trains are cheap either. Also according to the BPAS booklet I received at my consultation if you were 16 and under you needed an adult over 18 to accompany you home, it does not state that if you are between the ages of 17 and 18 you needed someone to accompany you home, now if this is the case then they should rewrite their booklets because it's a joke.
