I recently had a full knee replacement at the Winfield and cannot express enough the gratitude I feel to the staff who cared for me throughout my stay. Upon arrival I was shown to my room and each professional came to introduce themselves. It is difficult to single out individuals for praise as everyone did their job to such a high standard. The porter was friendly and very helpful, the physio has a knack of making you want to do the exercises and the nurses and healthcare assistants are simply amazing. I felt respected and as if I really mattered to each of them. Staff are efficient but take that extra minute to check on your wellbeing. Everything is fully explained and no one minds going over things twice if it helps to reassure. I was nervous about the operation but everything was exactly as it had been explained which gave me total confidence. When the time came for my discharge I was reassured that this would be arranged to suit the time my husband could get there to collect me, the pharmacist visited me to discuss pain relief medication and latter returned with everything I would need, they provided a full explanation and a leaflet just in case. The nurse checked I had everything I needed and provided a telephone number which we were encouraged to ring if we had any questions at all. Thankyou to everyone at the Winfield.
