"Life saving service during out of hours..."

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital / Cardiology

I had a Heart Attack at home in Cumbria in the early evening of the 20th of May 2017 one local neighbour first responder, two Ambulances with Para Medics, one good samaritan passing Mountain Rescue member, and one Air Ambulance air crew pulled out all stops to save my life, No words can give sufficient praise or thanks to the above professionals with out whom I am sure I wouldn't have reached Blackpool Hospital Alive to be operated on.

Once at Blackpool Hospital the medical team headed by a Consultant Cardiologist, excelled themselves from the minute they started to repair my heart problem they were all Fantastic very professional, thorough, polite, reassuring, and asstounding after working on me for several hours I was deemed well enough to be transferred to the Coronary Care Ward where members of my family were allowed to see me me briefly as I was classed as seriously ill.

From this point onwards I was cared for by a team of dedicated wonderful professional and human nursing staff of all ranks and positions constantly looking in and attending to all my medical needs, they are without doubt the unsung heros of the carers but once again at every stage of my journey I can only give my utmost praise and myself and my family owe a debt of gratitude so large it could never be paid, Thank you to all and Blackpool

Dear Ian

It is great to read your positive feedback following your recent experience of care and treatment from the emergency services and also Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.

It sounds like it was quite an adventure and it is fantastic to read that throughout your journey you found staff to be so caring and professional.

I will ensure that I feedback this to the teams involved.

We are always keen to capture our patients Experiences and one of the ways is through our patient story programme. As you’re someone who has come into contact with many of our Staff from different areas, and if you feel able, could you contact my colleague Eleanor on Eleanor.Walsh@bfwhospitals.nhs.uk to establish if this is something you would like to participate in?

Thank you once more and I hope that your recovery continues

Best wishes

Andrew
