I was brought into Highbury Hospital after I was treated for a broken back from a suicide attempt last year.
Initially I didn't respond to treatment but after a while and a lot of discussion I came out of depression. Initially I was kept in Highbury for a number of week until my mood stabilised and I was ready for release to Beacon lodge. I found the consultant I was assigned to be very professional and patient. He was approachable and happy to answer any question. The nursing staff was very caring and treated the patients with consideration despite the patients on occasion being very rude. The support staff with the odd exception of 1 or 2 of the bank staff were very friendly. Finally a word of praise for the occupational health team, who put on daily activities designed to stimulate and reduce boredom. They were excellent and my only criticism would be that they under utilise the assets they have. E. g large CD collection.
