I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with Royal Free hospital before even I had the chance to visit . My newborn baby have been referred by the GP to the Plastic surgery clinic, I booked an appointment for the 31st of May, only to receive a letter on the 20th of May saying I did not attend my appointment on the 15th of May and my baby has been discharged!! Oh well how can I attend an appointment i never booked and I have not been informed of, I am sorry but I am not a telepathic just yet. I spend 2 hours on the phone with different people saying me different things and transferring my call to someone else, to be actually told you have to do everything all over again, so I will end up waiting another 2 months for an appointment just because the sergeant is on an annual leave on the 31st of May and they just decided to cancel my appointment. If the sergeant is away then isn't there anyone else? I understand that my baby's condition is not urgent and not seen as important by the hospital but in fact for me this is quite important. I feel she is in distress and I am always in the look that she will not hurt herself due to her condition. The procedure she requires is minimal and probably it will take 5-10 minutes, but oh well I have to wait for that another 2-3 months. I find this very unprofessional and careless, if you change someone's appointment please make sure that person is aware of the change!!! This is so annoying and frustrating... how a hospital and health providers can be so unresponsible and careless.. Anyways do I have another choice?! I just called the GP and I will need to be referred again and do everything all over again.. I just feel so let down by this, as my newborn baby and me will have to wait for another 2-3 months just because someone failed to inform me of the change in my appointment and the sergeant is on annual leave. How professional and responsible is that!?! Thank you for the stress you have caused me and my family.
"Very unprofessional and careless hospital."
