"Linda McCartney clinic"

I was referred by my GP for an ultrasound for a lump in my breast, always a scary concept! I was called in right on time and greeted by a really friendly nurse who showed me where to get changed and wait. I was then seen by one of the senior nurses after a very short wait, who was absolutely lovely and really reassuring. They talked me through what was going to happen. I had another short wait before being called in for an ultrasound. Everyone greeted me and introduced themselves and made me feel really comfortable.

When the doctor couldn't quite see what they were expecting and asked for another doctor to come in, they stayed really calm and explained what was happening and made me feel at ease. Another doctor and another radiographer came in and were both just as friendly and introduced themselves.

The second doctor agreed with the first and said they wanted to do a biopsy, this doctor too stayed really calm and explained clearly what they were doing. They talked me through every step of the way and what to expect. The second radiographer made light conversation with me and took my mind off everything and said I could squeeze their hand if I wanted to but wasn't patronising or pushy, just genuinely nice.

The radiographers told me what to expect afterwards and how to care for it and gave me some information. I then went back to the nurse who again explained everything and gave me a slip to book another appointment for results.

In all those jobs that would be unimaginably stressful and tiring, I was so overwhelmed by how friendly and personable and calm everyone was. I felt like I was seen as a person. Every moment was clearly explained and I was reassured and acknowledged. It makes the prospect of going back for the results so much easier as I know how well I will be treated. A massive thank you to everyone in the clinic.
