As always, Nuffield Hospital Leeds maintains its reputation for great care and they couldn't have done more today in Radiology to avoid me having to come back when my arms refused to provide a vein for the cannula to go into to deliver the contrasting medium for the CT coronary angiography. I'm notorious for other having good veins and two nurses tried their best but had to resort to a third, whom they said was brilliant and so they were, managing to find a suitable vein - not before using their initiative and getting a portable ultrasound scanner to find a vein!
The doctor was also great at explaining to me what would happen, how I would feel etc. Which was good as the 'hot flush' the doctor described I'd feel when the dye was pumped in was quite a weird and shocking sensation if one wasn't mentally prepared for it.
Everyone was patient and courteous despite how frustrating the situation was. Many thanks indeed.
"Great care and going the extra mile"
