"Dignity for the elderly"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

My mother is currently in the hospital. She has been upset by the allowing of children in during visiting hours treating it like a playground. She also is distressed by the time it takes to get taken to the toilet.

From what I could see the majority of patients in this ward are elderly and should be treated with respect and not treated like time wasters. One more thing, my mother has hardly eaten anything because a lot of the food is not suitable for the elderly. The salads consist of hard lumps of carrots, thick slices of cucumber and hard tomatoes, not exactly suitable for the elderly. I understand it all has to be costed but the menus i think, are very boring and don't give patients much choice.
