I had a fall on Saturday 13th May on the Southwest Coast Path. First the Coastguard had to carry me to their vehicle and then drove me to meet an ambulance near to the Lizard. Upon arrival at Treliske I only waited 5 minutes before being handed over to the nurse.
Then I was taken to cubicle 8. Within 10 minutes or less maybe I went to x-ray.
On return I was waiting for the doctor to look at my x-rays when a lovely tea person with a trolley offered my daughter a cup of tea and biscuits.
The attention and kindness from all staff was very genuine.
I went home expecting to have to ring fracture clinic on Monday for a follow up as I had not been given an appointment.
Well on Sunday I had a call from the hospital to do a risk assessment for DVT. I was the advised that I may have a fracture so would I like to come in on 17/5/17 at 10.30 am to see the knee specialist.
I want to say a big thank you for everything on Saturday to the Ambulance staff, nurses, radiologists, doctors and the tea lady who all contributed to my care.
If this is the NHS in crisis, well what can I say. I am a Practice Nurse and work in Falmouth and get so fed up of the negativity so thought I would at least say thank you.
