I was referred to A and E by my optician at Vision Express who was worried about a
possible problem, this was a Sunday afternoon and they contacted the department who
agreed that I should attend. On arrival my details had been sent and I was then told that the duty Doctor was on their way (there is not usually an eye department on Sunday) The doctor arrived and they thoroughly and I mean thoroughly examined my eyes and managed to find a problem which the doctor was not happy with. The doctor arranged for me to be seen at the
eye Department by a Consultant on Monday May 15th. (the very next day) Again on
arrival my details were there and I have to say that the various treatments and preparations prior to the examination were professionally carried out. and with care. The Consultant eventually arrived and again a thorough eye examination was carried out and thankfully everything was carried out with great dignity and respect. I cannot thank the Department or the Doctors involved for the outstanding way they dealt with my extra case in an already busy clinic. People say that the National Health don't deal with the elderly as carefully as other age groups, This is a complete misnomer, I am 74 years old and cannot fault the service especially when you consider the hardship the Hospitals have to deal with. God Bless them all.
"very thankful for the care I received."
