About: Ealing IAPT Counselling Service

(as a service user),

I had a very grief-stricken 2 years. I sadly lost a family member to suicide and 6 months later lost my grandmother, with whom I was very close. During this time my partner's mother was also diagnosed with breast cancer, shortly before her father passed away following an aggressive form of skin cancer last May.

This was a very hard time. I suffered from anxiety and low mood, and was referred to the Ealing IAPT Counselling service for bereavement counselling. I received excellent care and a highly professional service, and my counsellor (Shole) was exceptional. She did a fantastic job of encouraging me to link my feelings of grief with wider feelings of loss, and reflect on patterns of behaviour among my other relationships. She gave me the courage to talk about my feelings and confront the things in my relationships that I wanted to change. And for that, I can't thank her enough. I would highly recommend the Ealing IAPT Counselling service!
