"Attending A&E with a friend"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a friend),

I attended A&E to escort my friend who had just been involved in a car accident. Upon arrival at 18: 00 (On a Staurday) she gave her details at the reception desk and we waited approximately 15/20mins to be seen.

Thereafter she was reviewed by a nurse and her history taken and observations checked. Within 5 mins of being seen by the nurse she was seen and thoroughly reviewed by a doctor and also offered pain relief medication. The doctor returned with the pain medication, again within 5mins and she was discharged home.

All in all we were in and out within the hour and very pleased with the service
