"Walk-in Heart Attack case"

About: Cheltenham General Hospital / Cardiology

Thursday morning both arms began aching and then my chest felt as though it was being crushed. Decided to walk it off in Sandford Park close to where I live. But it worsened so turned up College Rd to A&E. Told receptionist I thought I was having a heart attack, they calmly took my personal details then asked me to take a seat. Within a minute I was called by the triage team, assessed rapidly ,put on a trolley and given an ECG. I was rapidly wheeled to the Cardiac Theatre where the operating team acted with the speed and precision of a Formula 1 pit stop.My trousers have never come off so fast. within minutes the problem had been detected, stent put in and I was out on Hartbury Ward. Transferred later to the Critical Cardiac Ward where I was monitored for a couple of days before being allowed home

Can I sincerely thank everyone from the receptionist ,the triage team, the consultant and their operating team to the ward nurses and all the auxilaries who worked their long and sometimes difficult shifts with smiles on their faces. Even the food was pretty good.

Monday morning walked to the shops with no problems whatsoever.

Yes cannot recommend them highly enough.
