As a staff nurse, I’ve seen a Bone Marrow Biopsy carried out, and I was very apprehensive before going in for mine.

Staff nurse Jane and CSW Margret were Fantastic. Jane knew I was anxious and took me through everything step by step, talked me through the procedure. He really cared me down. She was clear in the way she spoke, counting down from 5 before she did anything. She let me take it in my own time, she was brilliant.

The hospital had very accommodating facilities, with a nice waiting room, with a TV and refreshments. My daughter waited in there whilst I had the biopsy. My husband came in with me. They were offered refreshments whist there. The privacy was wonderful, and I felt that the nurse had enough time to do the procedure.

The aftercare was excellent. The nurse rang me to make sure my pain relief was okay, inquired about my dressing etc.
