"A very disappointing experience"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as a service user),

I attended a and e at forth valley hospital after slamming the boot of my car down on my forehead splitting it open. Was seem promptly by triage who advised that it would need glued or steri stripped. They assessed my vitals which were fine and asked me to wait for a dr.

When I saw the dr, they could only be described as the most unsympathetic and uncompassionate medical professional I have ever come across.

No introduction therefore I am unable to share their name, hardly spoke, hardly made eye contact and basically I was made to feel like I was wasting time when I was told that I could have fixed it at home with steri strips from over the counter.

I was unclear when they had finished, leaving me to second guess when I could leave.

I was made to feel small and inadequate.

I attended a and e with my mother in law, an ex nurse who felt it needed seen. We found out once we were at forth valley that we could have attended minor ailments at Stirling: massive posters everywhere in the waiting area but had been unaware of this before hand or we definely gone there.

I work within the NHS and am frankly horrified by the lack of care compassion and most importantly communication skills of this consultant.

A very disappointing experience.
