"The handling of post within and from the hospital from consultants"

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

(as the patient),

My experience as a private patient is that the postal services at Frimley Park Hospital are quite random. On one occasion a letter franked First Class took 15 days to reach me, on another one day. This is wholly unsatisfactory. On neither occasion was there any particular difficulty with Royal Mail.

I have also got friends who have not received letters giving appointments, for one it took 3 appointments before she actually managed to have a consultation with an eye consultant, as never having had the first letter she didn't realise she would have drops in both eyes and would not be able to drive home and was not prepared to leave her car overnight as it might well have been vandalised. She is not the only one I know of who has not received letters from this department. I wonder how many people who do not turn up for appointments do not know they should be there and are therefore removed from waiting lists.
