I spent two weeks in the care of North Tees Hospital, in the Emergency Assessment Unit, Intensive Care Unit and Ward 29.
In spite of the fact that staff of all designations were hard pressed, the attention and care I received was excellent and delivered in a friendly and competent way. I am known for taking an interest in - and asking questions about - my conditions and medications; and dialog with all staff members was always pleasant and informative.
In some situations humour was the watchword and there was often a place for that.
I noticed that some staff sometimes overran their shifts; but seemed to accept this as inevitable.
The food and catering arrangements were far better than I had experienced in previous stays at North Tees.
Overall, I appreciate all the care and attention I received from a dedicated group of professionals; and hope that national resources in the future can be increased to improve the lot of all health professionals.
Well done North Tees, from a grateful patient.
