I was admitted on the 8th April with a blockage in my intestines, from my initial contact with the “111 service” to admission onto the acute assessment ward via the “out of hours doctors “was less than 1.5 hours, brilliant.
From then on via Ward 36 for 4 days to Ward 20 for 12 days my treatment could not have been bettered. From arrival to discharge on the 25th April, I received wonderful care.
Following on from my initial problem I went down with a Duodenal Ulcer, which caused me major problems including a requirement for a transfusion of 6 unit of blood, without which I am sure I would not be writing this review, my sincere thanks must go, also, to the anonymous donors of my 6 pints of blood.
.During my stay I had several x-rays, 2, CT scans, an Endoscopy and a Colonoscopy, all carried out by brilliant caring staff, all followed up by dedicated Specialist / Consultants.
We read all time of the difficulties within the NHS but this is a precious asset from which we receive some of the best healthcare in the world absolutely free at the point of delivery, which we take for granted.
The staff here do a fantastic job, sometimes in difficult circumstances, and I cannot thank them enough for their care, everything they did for me was performed with care & consideration.
I cannot name individuals but I hope everyone involved with my care reads my review & I wish to thank them all from the bottom of my heart.
