I attend the A&E at Tewkesbury and Cheltenham General on Sunday 9th April.
The initial service at Tewkesbury and Cheltenham was very good. This involved post incident care and an X-Ray. However the follow up was less than satisfying.
I had to wait nearly 4 hours for someone to look at the X-Ray and tell me I had a broken collarbone. I was then booked into the Fracture Clinic for the following Tuesday, which was the next available appt. I told staff I could not make this appt, as I would not be available for a week however I was advised to call the cancellation line and they would rebook the appt.
I called and cancelled the appt and was told to call back once I had returned and the appt would be rebooked. Today, 18th April, I have called the Orthopaedic dept and (after about 6 calls, none of which were answered) have been told I was discharged and the appt cannot be rebooked without a referral from my GP (I should have been told this before I cancelled the previous appt, I was not).
I have found the process and differences of information very frustrating
