"Podiatry Appointment not in your system"

About: Purley War Memorial Hospital

(as the patient),

Today I arrived early at Purley Hospital for my follow up podiatry appointment only to be told that there was no appointment for me. I explained that I had rung up to make it in March but had received no letter. I had originally been seen & assessed at Leander Road in December and was told I could have future appointments at Purley as it was closer to home. When the helpful receptionist tried to book an appointment she told me this wasn't possible as I was a biomechanics patient & not podiatry & I needed to contact Leander Road to change this.

When I rang Leander Road the somewhat brusque person who answered the phone said that I now needed to go back to my GP to get a new referall for a podiatry appointment despite the clinician I originally saw saying I should contact Purley for the follow up!

A complete waste of my morning and now out of pocket for the two taxi fares (I am mobility impaired).

Not impressed at all!
