"Feedback about my Employment Specialist"

About: South West London And St George's Mental Health NHS Trust / Adult mental health

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I am very happy with the support Mashfiqul has given me as his Employment Specialist and he has supported me through a difficult phase at work when I was facing serious disciplinary with my employer.

Mash helped me redo my CV, perfected it, and this helped me secure 2 further interviews with 2 other employers and helping me to secure further employment despite saving my job with my current employer. I started having a sense of self-belief in my own creativity and dedicated myself by going to interviews.

Mash also helped me secure my interview with a charity in Balham and subsequently was offered a job at very short notice.

Mash is now helping me use my university degree and qualification to explore jobs as an Employment Advisor as I wish to be like my Employment Specialist and help others find work.

Amongst all the negative thoughts I get, there has been a glimmer of hope in my life. Mash has lifted a massive weight off my shoulders by being there at the right time, by offering kindness, support, ideas and some coping mechanisms.

All I needed to do was open my mind to different possibilities and allow myself to think I can do it, to have a goal and make some steps (one day at a time) to move closer to my objectives. The road is long but I have good shoes with a greater supporter to help take me up the hill again.

Thank you for taking the time to post about your experience with our services and it is particularly great to read the comments about Mash. I am glad he was supportive and kind and being there for you at the right time. This is excellent to hear.

I am pleased to hear that through his support you have been able to secure an interview and were offered the job with the charity in Balham.
