"Told everything was fine and see you in six months"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

Went to get a routine appointment at the cardiac outpatients department to have a ultrasound done to wich was told) that all was fine and a would see them in six months ..A few months went by and got a phone call from the jubilee in clydebank to tell me if a don't get an operation I would die ..A spoke to them and did explain a had seen a heart Dr a few mouth earlier and was told everything was OK.

He then said if I don't get an operation asap a would die but there's been a lot of mistakes done by Crosshouse hospital and have had no answers but to be told you should be grateful your alive. It's left me mentally and physical scared for life and still no one to answer why a want told by Ayrshire and Arran Crosshouse  after getting told everything was fine and still don't know how they never explained anything to me.

Dear Dan28,

I am so sorry, this is not an acceptable situation to be in and I would like to help in any way I can. I am sure it is a very scary time for you and the confusing information must be very distressing. From your post, I am not sure of what has happened entirely, but I can find out. I hope I can encourage you to contact Eunice Goodwin, our Patient Feedback Manger so that we can look into this so we can get you the answers, help and support you need.

Thank you for raising this with us. It is only by putting a spotlight on any area that we have lessons to learn, that we can improve them. Eunice can be contacted by phone on 01563 826222 or by email on eunice.goodwin@aapct.scot.nhs.uk

Kindest regards,

Professor Hazel Borland
