"I feel like a burden"

About: General practices in Ayrshire & Arran

(as the patient),

I have been a patient at Muirkirk since a young child, the practice changed hands now run under the Cumnock surgery, from my experience I never have I felt so uncared for in all my years.

I cannot fault the Advanced nurses who seem to be taking the place of a doctor, you cannot for the life get appointment with a doctor, dont even know who my doctor is.

When you do call to ask for an appointment you are made feel that if you do not see the advanced nurse first it will go against you, eventually when seeing a doctor who had never met me in their life.

In my view, they began to sound judgemental, knew nothing of my medical history, nothing about what I do for a living.  As well as this the doctor had the advanced nurse sitting in my consultation, now intimidated is the word I use.

I've worked most of my adult life, had great respect for the NHS but I feel the way this surgery is being run is a beyond poor, I feel they treat patients as they they are burden to them, and from my experiance, none of the doctors I have met in the past have ever made me feel so small.
