"Upset and no empathy"

About: New Cross Hospital / Accident and emergency

After 3 months of suffering with pains in my lower abdomen I finally plucked up the courage to contact 111 and ask for help. After talking to 111 they advised that an ambulance would be called, the ambulance then arrived and after tests took me to New Cross Hospital. Upon arrival I was taken to A&E and left in the corridor for approx 1.5hours in pain, anyway I was seen by a very pleasant and reassuring doctor who's named I didn't get but placed into cubicle 13 I had various tests and physical examination done by this doctor and they knew how much pain I was in on my left side as I had previous suffered with kidney stones the doctor thought it cud be a reoccurrence of that again so they arranged for me to have IV fluids and cocodamol for the pain this was all set up but then the doctor had to hand over due to shift change then another doctor was then my consultant. Then proceeded to psyically examine me and then noticed that the IV drip wasn't working so the consultant said not to worry I shall get something to sort your stomach pain and a nurse to sort the drip NOTHING HAPPENED I told another two nurses. Then after about 15 mins the consultant came in and advised they were discharging me (even without the IV fluid being administrated) and told me to go home take gaviscon and basically over the counter medication I replied by saying this is a joke I've tried all these for the past three months and because I am not one to waste anyone's time I am an recent below the knee amputee and had kidney stones removed and had nothing but admiration for NHS trust but what this consultant said to me next shocked me they said "I deal with emergencies here" omg I was devasted I was made to feel so awkward about wasting their time it belittled me it insulted me I felt prejudice against me and what hospitals are there as a last result for some people? and then to top it this the nurse who I had seen previously came into the room after the Dr had left looked straight at me and burst out laughing omg this made me feel even worse I felt abused by it and I intend to take this to PALS as only I'm still at home suffering with stomach pain no thanks to the NHS. I would like to add I did get some help from the discharge lounge staff as they were unable to get a suitable time off patient transport to take me home they arrange for an hospital taxi to take me home.
