"I have seen myself get better"

About: St Andrew's Healthcare Essex / Colne

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have been at St Andrew’s for two years. I have seen myself get better in that time. I will soon be moving to a step down ward. I meet with the chaplain once a week and I get to the church service once a month. You get support from the chaplain about my day and what I’m looking forward to when I get out. When I get to the service I pray and sing songs.

I often think why has God given me a mental health condition? I’m still exploring the answer to the question. Maybe I will talk this through with the chaplain

I often pray that tomorrow will be better if I pray for others and hope that God does not judge. I have given up snacks for Lent but sometimes give in especially when it makes me realise that life is hard.

I would like to work in a hospital, working in the operations theatre.

The chaplain is a nice lady, I would like to go to church in the community.
