"Blood test on pathology at basildon"

About: Basildon University Hospital

Tried to book an urgent blood test after finding a large vascular mass on pancreas. Was told that I'd need to change priority and just walk in as there were no AM appt for the next few days which I require for fasting bloods. Upon getting to pathology the 2 blond receptionists were very defensive, rude and lacked any empathy.

I had called to try to book an appt but was told it's OK to walk in, so when the staff tell me I shouldn't and make me feel like I'm to blame I felt quite disheartened. One receptionist then carried out to be quite rude saying goes that the receptionist on the phone would've told me to get a same day sticker on my form. Sorry I know what was said to me. Please take note that some people have just had untoward news and your total lack of empathy can really knock someone down. Let's hope that you don't have to go through the same then encounter someone as cold, rude and ignorant as yourselves.

If this is the kind of staff attitude, personal skills & empathy of staff in this hospital then I'm not looking my future experience dealing with this suspected cancer as I cannot and should nit have to tolerate rude cold people.
